Stoody® Keynote Presentation Delivered at National Welding Seminar & Weld India 2014-2015

Bowling Green, KY – Representing Stoody®, an ESAB brand, at the annual National Welding Seminar & Weld India 2014-2015 held in Jamshedpur, India, January 22-24, senior product manager Richard Cook delivered a keynote presentation on the development of ferrous and non-ferrous hardfacing alloys utilized in several industries including oil and gas and steel. Co-authored by Cook and Dr. Ravi Menon, VP, General Manager at Stoody, the technical paper traces the development of a variety of alloys designed to optimize wear and corrosion properties especially suited for extremely harsh conditions.

The National Welding Seminar & Weld India 2014-2015 is jointly organized by The Indian Institute of Welding Jamshedpur Branch and TATA Steel Limited as a platform for welding professionals from industries, academia, and research organizations to come together to learn and share knowledge about welding and cutting technology. According to event organizers, as a developing country India is poised to undergo significant infrastructure growth that could require an estimated four million tons of welding deposits per year by 2020.

The NWS is viewed as a strategic backdrop for discussions on every facet of welding and cutting technology ranging from materials, products, quality control, workforce skill development, safety and the environment.
